Manifesto Session

Today was so fun, it made the dauntingness of writing about yourself a tad less horrible. Recurring themes when I try and describe my practice are curiosity, childlike curiosity, wonky, storytelling, intuition, sentimentality and playfulness. I think curiosity is the biggie. It has been since first year, and probs for my whole life.

My practice and myself are quite like a magpie?? I get very excited and obsessed with things and will absorb all I can about it, and then I'll move onto something else, like having 30 tabs open of things. I just want to learn n absorb as much as I can. Jas said the other day that I get very excited over the smallest things which made me v happy, I think thats a nice thing to have in a scary capitalist world.

I v much enjoyed the recipe and haiku. Could be fun activities to set myself further down the line?
I don't think my manifesto is very readable so I'll type her out:

1. KEEP LOOKING - Stay curious always. Walking helps. There's lots to take in

2. KEEP PLAYING - Keep having fun and discovering new things. Never lose the joy and intrigue.

3. STAY TRUTHFUL - Stay truthful to your values and morals.

4. STAY ENGAGED - Stay engaged in the wider world and the current issues. Illustration is a privilege, use it wisely.

5. KEEP COLLECTING - Ephemera is great!!! Learn about history. Keep learning. Stay sentimental. Memories are important.

6. KEEP MAKING - Illustration can be hard but you're lucky to be doing what you love. Try to have fun even when its difficult.
