WEAKNESSES: - Is it too busy? I think the pencil shading marks and the fine tree detail may mean theres too much going on? - Do they even look like blackberries? - Although I like the colour scheme its not very relevant to the month of September - I need to branch out my typography to being more than just my handwriting

Porterhouse Cake Co
I was emailed by Liz Richardson who owns Porterhouse Cake Co in Leeds about a commission in which I'd be given a month and its seasonal ingredient (I got September and blackberries) and I was to create an a5 illustration with that which would go alongside 11 other illustrations by 11 other Leeds based artists to use as one of the rewards for her Kickstarter campaign.
I was also told I'd be paid in cake, which at the time I agreed to because I was hungry. I finished this brief a month ago and theres still been no reply about my cake so .. regrets. I'm glad I only spent a day on this brief.
STRENGTHS:
- I did this brief in a day as I didn't want to spend any longer than that (I was being paid in cake after all). So I'm pleased at my time management for that
- I like the simple colour scheme , getting better at putting restrictions on myself
- I think the texture of the blackberries works well
- I coloured in digitally, something I wouldnt have been confident in doing at the start of this year
WEAKNESSES: - Is it too busy? I think the pencil shading marks and the fine tree detail may mean theres too much going on? - Do they even look like blackberries? - Although I like the colour scheme its not very relevant to the month of September - I need to branch out my typography to being more than just my handwriting
