Personal SWOT test:
SWOT Test: SUNNIVA KROGSETH
beer label
SUCCESSES:
- very playful work, 'playground for adults'
- positive work, makes you smile
- her work can easily appeal to both children and adults
- does not seem to follow 'trends', very set in her own way of working, is her own creative
- works in analogue, then polishes it up digitally - best of both worlds
- doesn't seem to rely on Instagram as her sole way of sharing her work
- interest in folklore and mythology and her Norwegian culture and history, makes her interesting to work with, can bring something different
- its really refreshing to see hand drawn work be used in a commercial sense, I'm very used to seeing very digital work in the commercial markets at the moment which I don't connect with as much
- has worked in many sectors : music, editorial, posters, apparel, packaging etc
- seems like a lovely friendly person who would be a joy to work with (in my opinion one of the most important things)
WEAKNESSES:
- has no online shop at the moment
- talks about being an illustrator can be lonely sometimes
- I find her website quite difficult to navigate and see all of her projects
OPPORTUNITIES:
- doing the visual identity for Green Man 2018 was a huge opportunity, is widely advertised and celebrates the artwork it uses
- worked with Bread Collective for the Green Man work, talks about how working as part of a team was really beneficial
- worked with Plastic Horse too during Green Man who animated illustrations
- networking and collaboration with these creatives - skill swapping
- working for bands following on from the festival work
- bilingual
THREATS:
- lack of online shop (or maybe shes just busy)
- potentially still a smaller name in the illlustration world? saturated market
- Oslo is an expensive place to be based
- not a huge amount of information about her online - potential lack of visibility for international clients
