Classic me struggled at first with this. Didn't feel I had enough strong pieces to make a portfolio from, at first I just had loads of pages of work, it wasn't consolidated or trimmed down it was all just plonked.
Ruthlessly went through and got rid of pages and made it flow with my most recent project at the front. I included a few personal projects that I'm doing at the moment because i think this is important.
I took out the Mosaic Science work. I realised I was only really including this for the client name, I actually hate the work and it bums me out looking at it. So I got rid and felt a lot better. I'm proud of myself for doing that commission but I know that the work isn't 'me' and I don't want to get commissioned for anything visually similar to that.
In the end I actually felt my work sat together pretty cohesively - funny how that happens. Its weird how tasks like this and making my website started out with an existential crisis but by the end they actually make me feel loads better - I can see how much work I've actually produced and that I've learned something with each project, its rewarding to see it all displayed together
I decided to rip off a vintage penguin cover for my front cover - this was just for the Hanbury event as I thought it would stand out and be memorable - for my actual portfolio I wouldn't do this - don't want to get sued heeeeeheeehhe (but I drew a fat pheasant instead of a penguin so what can they do they don't own copyrights to orange!!!)
