I made a website!!
caitmceniff.co.uk
I made it using Adobe portfolio because it was free with an Adobe subscription which will save me the £70 or something a year! I found it really easy to use and I'm pleased with how professional it looks although it was quite a restrictive format, you can't really change much about the layout or anything which is something to consider as I'd like to have a more interactive website possibly in the future. I added links to my shop and to my instagram and made sure I had a copyright message as the footer of every page. I also included a section of sketchbook pages which I'm going to keep adding to as sketchbooks are a really important part of my practice and I really enjoy looking at other people sketchbooks when they post pictures of them. I've been meaning to make a proper website for a while and so this task has pushed me to actually go for it and I'm really glad I did. Setting aside a day and making the website has really improved my confidence. I've been feeling a bit unconfident about myself and my work recently which has been really disheartening and demotivating but putting this together and seeing my work all together in one place has made me feel loads better and really boosted my confidence. I've been worried recently that I have no clear visual language across my work and all feels too jumbled but seeing it all together I can see a cohesive pattern which is really reassuring. I think its definitely useful in these times to have an easy accessible presence on t'internet for clients so I'm glad I've gone a step further than my instagram!
